HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Yes, I'm belated as always, but I hope everyone enjoyed their New Year celebrations. Zead and I spent it with his family in the super-windy-and-always-freezing Scarborough. His parent's friends Ron and Madeline also stopped by. A visit I was a little apprehensive about.
You see, Madeline is a sweet, Belgian lady. But a slightly demented one. The last time I saw her was a few years ago (also on New Years Eve) and we were sat eating dessert, when she marvelled at me: "Oh, look at the little girl, eating the ice-cream!"
Needless to say, I have been continually mocked by Zead's family for the hilarious comment, and I had been preparing myself mentally for more of Madeline's pearlers.
She did not disappoint.
Whilst at the dinner table, she asked: "Do you drink coffee?" I nodded. "With milk?" I nodded again. "Oh, you are quite normal!" The whole room burst into laughter.
Quite normal? Well I never! What a compliment!
The World would be a sad place without its share of Madelines.
