I find this family's surname really surprising. I thought they would come up with something more imaginative and exciting than just 'Beagle'. From this day forth, they shall be known as: The Bakers! It didn't take a genius to think up that one.
The original Tomy release in the US had sit / crawl twins with closed mouths, whilst the UK had standing babies. The later re-release in the US had twins with open mouths, and in the UK... Standing babies. Sigh. The main families themselves from what I can tell are identical in each release.
Well, nevermind. The Beagles have also been seen in various playsets.
In the UK:
2002: Antonia's Picnic (sister)
2003: Playtime with Father (father, baby boy)
2003: Playtime with Mother (mother, baby girl)
2009: Village Gift Shop (brother, and mother Periwinkle) *
Babies have also been released in Carry Cases:
2001: Carry Case - Beagle baby (sitting) *
2009: Duo Carry Case - Beagle baby (standing) & Chocolate Rabbit baby (lying down)
As you can see, I still have a few more members and playsets to find to complete this family! (* are the ones I own)

Biographies
UK
Father Percy Beagle is Sylvania's Master Baker. At 4 o'clock every morning (except Sundays) you'll find him at the Bakery making and baking his lovely crusty loaves ready to be delivered - still deliciously soft and warm - to his customers in time for their breakfasts.
Mother Prunella Beagle helps in the bakery as often as she can. Her speciality is making cakes for special occasions. Big, small, tiny, tall, she'll make cakes of any size, shape, colour or filling.
Brother Harold Beagle gets up at six o'clock in the morning to do all the bakery's deliveries on a heavy old black bicycle with a big wicker basket on the front where he puts the loaves.
Sister Antonia Beagle loves baking bread. She loves everything about it, especially the deliciously warm smell of the freshly baked loaves. Antonia really enjoys helping her Daddy and Mummy at the bakery whenever she can after finishing her school homework.
US
Girl twin, Fiona's first tooth was surely a sweet one. No matter how far Mother puts her delicious desserts, Fiona always seems to find them. For her birthday, she asked her parents to take her to the Sweet Shoppe and let her buy everything she wanted!
Boy twin, William loves to spend all day playing in the sandbox. Mother always reminds him to wash his hands [paws... Surely?] carefully before dinner. Sometimes he gets so dirty she tells him to change his clothes too!
