Butterglove Rabbit Family
These rabbits were originally released in Japan in 1986, and have been released many times, including special sets, as well as extending family members such as grandparents. The Buttergloves have now been retired. In the UK these families were dotted in various play sets, but have not had an official release as a family:
2001 - Professor Butterglove - Came with father (*)
2001 - Beverley Goes to School - Came with sister
2001 - Russell's Playtime - Came with mother and baby boy
2005 - Primose Nursery Sandpit and Figure Set - Came with mother and baby boy Meadows mouse
2007 - Bathtime with Mother - Came with mother and baby girl (*)
2007 - Picnic in the Park - Came with brother and baby boy (*)
2009 - Village Gift Shop - Came with mother and brother Beagle dog(*)
A Butterglove baby was also released in a 2001 Carry Case - it's in a sitting position and came with a pink rocking horse (*)
[(*) - donotes ones I currently own]
A promotional picture showed that the 2007 Bathtime with Mother set should have come with mother and baby Periwinkle rabbits. The families look very similar, however the Buttergloves have a bent ear, whilst the Periwinkles do not.
I quite like the Butterglove family, and I'm still looking for those final few Family Life sets to complete my UK family. But why have they released the mother figure so many times? I have absolutely no idea!
