Yay, cats! I love cats - almost as much as I love pandas. This cute family has seen releases in Japan, the UK, and the US. Their clothing is very similar, however the Japanese version not only has flat hands but their markings are slightly lighter than their Western cousins.
In the UK, we had a release of standing babies, whilst in the US, the traditional sit/crawl twins. Japan also had sit/crawl twins in different colours, as well as a standing baby. How greedy!
The UK Sylvanian Collector's club released a set of Macavity grandparents, and a set were also released in Japan. Both are uncommon and are becoming increasingly difficult to find.
In the UK, Macavity cat babies have also been released in Carry Cases:

2009: Delightful Duo Carry Case - Macavity cat (standing position, open mouth) and Periwinkle rabbit (crawling, open mouth)
I still need to collect the UK and Japanese families.

Biographies
USA
Mother, Carla loves creating new candy flavours. She mixes all delicious ingredients together like chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, and cherries. She makes the best gift baskets filled with pecan caramel clusters, chocolate covered almonds and dark chocolate truffles.
Father, Carter runs the Cloverleaf Candy Shop with his wife. Every day he leaves candy on the counter so everyone can taste his wife's latest creation. He likes to see children's faces light up when they taste all the yummy sweets.
Brother, Chris can run really fast and is on his school's track team. His family is always in the crowd cheering for him at all of his competitions. He has already won tons of medals and trophies and he wants to be a professional track runner when he gets older.
Sister, Camryn is on her school's gymnast team. After she does her homework, she practices her cartwheels, handstands, and back flips for hours. Her routines are incredible, and when others see her skills, they are amazed at how talented she is!
(is it just me, or do these biographies make little sense? Why would your children be super-athletic if you work in a sweet shop?)

Alonzo Macavity as a child, wanted to be a dentist, but hated the sound of drilling. Strange that he has ended up being the Sylvanian builder.
Cassandra Macavity is a bit of a stargazer and loves looking into the future. At the moment she is trying to see what she should make for dinner tonight!
Rumpus Macavity when allowed, loves helping his father. However he is very michievous and once got stuck behind a wall that his father was building.
Asparagus Macavity has been taking cookery lessons and would like to end up being a master chef. She is always giving her mummy useful tips!
Skimble Macavity loves chatting away to herself. However at the moment, no one can understand what she is saying!
Etcetera Macavity is a very creative little boy and loves playing with the building bricks that his daddy bought him. But sometimes he can be naughty and throws them around the room!
Electra Macavity likes to cuddle up with her mother, but if mum's busy she'll find a cosy, sunny spot to have a sleep in. Electra only comes to life when it's time to eat!
