Wheee~

I really love white Sylvanians as a collector. But as a children's toy, they're dreadful. They'd never stay that colour when I was a child, no matter how hard I tried to keep them clean (but I suppose taking them in the garden wasn't a good idea).

These were first released in the UK in 1990, and were an off-white, and then released again in 1991 in the stark white colour we now see in the Snow-Warrens today. They have open hands, and the babies are in gowns held on by delicate pieces of ribbon.

In 2002 Flair re-released the Snow-Warren family, and the mother's dress changed from yellow to pink. Standing babies with moving arms and legs were also made, and in 2010 a new Celebration family was released with the baby girl now in a sitting position, and with brand new grandparents.

The Snow-Warrens have also appeared in a couple of playsets in the UK:

2004: Conner and Kerri's Pram Ride - came with mother, and new sit and crawl twins*
2004: Sophie's Doll's House - came with sister

The US had the same identical sets under the Calico Critters license, but with different names for the sets and figures:

2003: A Carriage Ride for Conner and Kerri - came with mother Shannon, and new sit and crawl twins
2005: Susie Snow-Warren's Dolls Houses - came with sister Susie

[* the ones that I own]

Although  this family has only been released as a whole in the UK, other countries have had other figures in sets such as those mentioned above. Japan has also had a few figures in special sets too.

I still need Sophie's Doll's House set, as well as the original families. Time to check out eBay!
