Another one of the original families. I think that this family really captures what Sylvanian Families were like in the 1980's and early 1990's - traditional, sweet, woodland creatures.
This family was originally released in the UK in 1987, with the babies in ribbon-top gowns, and all the figures had flat hands. There were no older brother or sister figures released here, or in the US at that time. The original Tomy version is identical in both the UK and US.
In Japan, the original version of this family did have the older brother and sister figures, which are rare and hard to find. The main family figures (mother, father, brother, sister, and baby) were re-released for the 20th anniversary in replicas of the original boxes from the 1980's (as well as the Evergreen Bear family)
Back in the UK, the Wildwoods have been re-released several times by Flair. We have:
Open hand version - 2005
Celebration Set - 2009 - includes the older brother and sister for the very first time!
Since the original Tomy release of the Wildwoods, they haven't been released in the US as a family set since. However the Wildwood sister has made an appearance in the following 'ready to play set': Holly and Andromeda's Tea Party Set (also available in the UK - came with Petite Bear sister)

Smokey Wildwood loves to play with his grandchildren; he claims it keeps him young. Building and flying kits, making and sailing boats on the duck pond are amongst his favourite pastimes.
Flora Wildwood likes the quiet life; no noise, no fuss, just peace and quiet. She loves spending time with her grandchildren after Smokey has tired them out, when they can manage a game of cards or a snooze in front of the TV.
Herb Wildwood loves to throw parties. He doesn't need a reason, like someone's birthday or anniversary to invite all his family and friends around for a bit of a do!
Ginger Wildwood is a great hostess, famous for her legendary party food and especially for her spicy carrot and lettuce cake.
Rusty Wildwood is very, very musical. He can play most instruments well, but like the trumpet and electric guitar best because they're loud and brash.
Hollie Wildwood is like her father and just loves parties, her favourite occasions being Christmas and New Year.
